Gillian Schutte receives journalism award from Nuclear industry

RUSSIA’S state nuclear energy corporation, ROSATUM, has awarded “journalist”, Gillian Schutte with an award on behalf of the nuclear industry.

“As Africa increasingly positions itself at the forefront of multipolar nuclear partnerships, the Rosatom Media Award reinforces the significance of independent voices within the energy discourse.” claims the Russian nuclear parastatel, which has been flying advertorials for years in Independent Online.

The latest award should be seen as an blatant attempt to capture journalists seeking to rewriting news stories in order to favour the agency in any future nuclear procurement deal.

Self-proclaimed ,far-left ‘feminist’ Schutte, says she wants nuclear power plant decisions to be made not on the basis of engineering science, financial due diligence or public health but for pure ideological reasons. She asserts: “Nuclear debates must evolve beyond the rigid confines of engineering and finance, embracing concepts of sovereignty, social justice, and sustainability.”

Whether any of this actually makes sense when reading Article 12 Earth Rights, outlining ecological sustainability remains to be seen.
